The Secret to More Joy, Success & Abundance
Jun 10, 2026By Heather Owens, RN, BSN, MBA
Sweet friend,
Can I tell you something I wish someone had told me a couple of years ago?
You don't have to earn every beautiful thing in your life.
I know.
I know that's a hard one.
Because if you're anything like me, you've spent most of your life doing.
Taking care of people.
Showing up.
Working hard.
Holding it all together.
Being the strong one.
The dependable one.
The one who figures it out.
And while those things are beautiful, they can also quietly teach us something that isn't true:
That our worth is tied to our productivity.
That rest must be earned.
That we have to prove we're deserving before we can receive.
For a long time, I lived that way.
I thought if I just worked a little harder, achieved a little more, checked a few more things off the list, then I would finally feel successful, peaceful, fulfilled, enough.
But lately I've been learning something different.
Something softer.
Something that has changed me.
What if your next level isn't about doing more?
What if it's about receiving more?
Not more stuff.
- More life.
- More joy.
- More connection.
- More love.
More moments that make you stop and think:
"This is it."
"This is the life I prayed for."
Because here's what I've noticed.
So many of us are standing in the middle of answered prayers while focusing on what's still missing.
We're living inside blessings we once dreamed about, yet we're too busy planning tomorrow to enjoy today.
I've done it too.
I've rushed past wins.
Minimized accomplishments.
Downplayed compliments.
Skipped celebrations.
Always moving.
Always chasing.
Always thinking the next thing would finally be enough.
But the truth?
Life isn't happening someday.
It's happening right now.
In the laughter around your dinner table.
In the text from your daughter.
In the hug from your husband.
In the workout that makes you feel strong.
In the quiet cup of coffee before the world wakes up.
In the freshly washed sheets.
In the sunset.
In the ordinary Tuesday that doesn't look extraordinary until years later when you realize it was.
Maybe manifestation isn't about getting more.
Maybe it's about finally noticing how much is already here.
The Day I Realized I Was Learning to Receive
The other day, I found myself reflecting on everything I had done.
I worked.
I exercised.
I spent time with my husband.
I took care of my home.
I prepared healthy meals.
I worked on my business.
I finalized important decisions for a dream I've been building for years.
And then I caught myself.
Normally I would have looked for what I didn't get done.
But instead, I looked at what I experienced.
- Connection.
- Love.
- Health.
- Progress.
- Peace.
- Presence.
I realized I wasn't just building a business.
I wasn't just checking boxes.
I was living my life.
And that felt different.
Because success isn't just what you're creating.
It's what you're allowing yourself to enjoy while you're creating it.
Five Ways to Practice Receiving
1. Let Good Things Land
The next time something wonderful happens, don't rush past it.
Pause. Take a breath. Feel it.
A compliment.
A sale.
A hug.
A great conversation.
Tell yourself:
"I receive this."
Not because you earned it.
Because it's here.
2. Stop Arguing With Love
When someone compliments you, believe them.
When someone helps you, let them.
When someone loves you, receive it.
You don't have to immediately give something back.
You don't have to prove you're worthy.
You already are.
3. Celebrate More Often
You do not have to wait for the finish line.
Celebrate the workout.
Celebrate the healthy meal.
Celebrate the difficult conversation.
Celebrate the courage it took to keep going.
Your confidence grows when you acknowledge your progress.
4. Be Where Your Feet Are
When you're with your family, be with your family.
When you're exercising, be exercising.
When you're laughing, laugh.
When you're resting, rest.
Life is so much sweeter when we stop trying to live three moments ahead.
5. Remember That Rest Is Productive
The most successful women I know aren't the ones who never stop.
They're the ones who know when to stop.
They're the ones who understand that rest isn't quitting.
It's preparation.
It's nourishment.
It's wisdom.
A Manifestation Practice I Love
Before bed tonight, imagine yourself one year from now.
Picture her clearly.
She's happy.
She's healthy.
She's thriving.
She feels secure.
She feels loved.
She trusts herself.
Now ask:
- Who did I become to create this life?
- Not what did I accomplish.
- Who did I become?
Did she become more confident?
- More peaceful?
- More organized?
- More present?
- More trusting?
- More receptive?
Because manifestation isn't about becoming someone else.
It's about uncovering who you've been all along.
Journal Prompts
-
What was my favorite moment today, and why?
-
What did I allow myself to receive today?
-
What evidence do I have that I am already becoming the woman I want to be?
-
What am I grateful for that I once prayed for?
-
Where can I stop striving and start trusting?
-
If I truly believed I was already enough, how would I show up tomorrow?
From My Heart to Yours
If you're reading this and feeling tired...
If you've been carrying a lot...
If you've been working hard to build a beautiful life...
I want you to know something.
You don't have to wait until everything is perfect to feel successful.
You don't have to earn every ounce of joy.
You don't have to prove your worth through exhaustion.
You are allowed to enjoy your life while you're building it.
You are allowed to receive the love that's being offered.
You are allowed to celebrate how far you've come.
You are allowed to rest.
And maybe, just maybe, the next chapter of your life won't be built by doing more.
Maybe it will be built by finally allowing yourself to receive more.
